TANJONG DAWAI

Tanjong Dawai is famous for its seafood,  anchovies, fresh prawn paste, fermented shrimp and salted fish like ikan gelama and tamban. Also available are dried shrimps, fish & prawn crackers and cuttlefish.

 

GUNUNG JERAI

This is the highest peak in Kedah. On clear days, different vantage points on the mountain offer spectaculars views of the rolling rice fields, Penang island as well as the legendary island of Langkawi. A forestry museum is also located in the vicinity of this resort.

SEMELING JETTY

Do not miss the 2 hour eco-tourism round trip boat tour to Tanjung Dawai to experience the breathtaking scenery and to get a closer look at the mangroves, birds and fish along the way.

 

MANGROVE GALLERY COMPLEX

This is a historical museum located at the Semeling Pier that comes with an auditorium and restaurant. There are over 30 species of mangroves and 80 species of birds and visitors can use the one kilometer long pedestrian ramps provided in the complex.

BUJANG VALLEY ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM

The Bujang Valley archaeological museum houses numerous artifacts, gem stones, beads, etc. For the record, fifty candis or temples were found along Sungai Bujang.

  CANDI BATU PAHAT

Candi Batu Pahat which is believed to have been built in the 17th Century are the remains of temples and statues of Indian Gods and Goddesses which is similar to those of historical sites in India.

PANTAI MERDEKA

Pantai Merdeka is a beautiful beach surrounded by tall swaying palms trees.

   

TUPAH RECREATIONAL FOREST

Tupah Recreational Forest is popular picnic spot with the locals. Also, the road heading to this place is quite narrow.
